You are sure to attend or host a small gathering this holiday season. A charcuterie board is super easy and sure to wow all of your guests. Of course, you can order one directly from Nosh, or if you would like to do it yourself, just make sure you have included these five items.
Cheese - You have many choices, but definitely stick with several that you actually enjoy. I prefer including a couple of hard and soft cheeses. My favorites are Gouda, Goat and Brie.
Sweet- Cheese pairs well with sweet items such as honey, fruit jams and chutney. I also love dried fruit and chocolates. And of course don't forget fresh fruit if it is season such as pomegranates, grapes, melons and apples.
Savory- A savory element pairs well with your meats. I prefer an assortment of nuts, spreads such as onion jam and pickled items like olives and cornichons.
Meat- It is charcuterie, right? Typically you would like to incorporate a variety of cured meats such as prosciutto, salami, and sopressata. The options are endless so if you prefer not to use pork, include, turkey, sliced beef or a vegan option.
Bread- Incorporate fresh bread such as a sliced baguette or garlic toasted crostini. You can also add a variety of crackers. If your crackers are available in different flavors, this can add a different flavor profile for your cheeses and meats.
Now, all you need to do is arrange everything on a wooden board and open acouple bottles of good wine!
I hope this I hope this has inspired you to give this a try. Let me know how much everyone loves it!
